School Annual Report 2019 – 2020

Esteemed guest of the day, Honourable collector District Burhanpur Mr. Rajesh Kumar Kaul IAS, Most. Rev. Dr. Sebastian Durairaj, Bishop of Khandwa, Mr. Sayyed Atique Ali, District Educatiton Officer of Burhanpur, Rev. Fr. John Victor Education Secretary of Khandwa Diocese and the Manager of St. Theresa Higher Secondary School,Rev.Fr. Mathew K.J. Manager of our school, distinguished guests Rev. fathers, sisters, parents and well wishers.

Thirteen years on,St.Xavier’s International School continues its march towards educating its student community for building a healthy, knowledgeable society and a strong nation. At the very commencement of this Annual Report , I thank the Lord for His never-failing guidance, light and bountiful blessings showered on us during these thirteen years.I must bow my head in filial devotion and gratitude to our heavenly patron St. Xavier without whose intercession, these achievements and growth would not have been possible.

On this joyous occasion I would like to thank everyone who chipped in their efforts to mark this year yet another success story in the annals of St.Xavier’s international school Burhanpur. I would like to give special thanks to the foresighted vision, dedication and contribution of Rev.Fr.Benny,and Rev.Fr. Jose George .

In July 2019 Sr.Jiss Jose the Principal of this school was transferred to Meghalaya.We are ever grateful to her for the dedicated service she has rendered in this institution. Following her transfer Sr.Sabna Lawrence was appointed the principal on on July 1st 2019.

 

Strength and Staff

Today we have1300 students on roll and 66 teaching staff and 20 supporting staff. The growth and development of our nation depends mainly on the quantity and quality of manpower. The well educated and properly trained manpower can accelerate the pace of development. So our school aims at a holistic approach to education with emphasis on value education for the all round development of a child to compete present and future.
Staff Enrichment Programme

There is an explosion in new and innovative methods of teaching to facilitate the students. Our teachers are always ready to learn and accept new ways. They constantly strive to stay updated by attending various training programmes like.

One day seminar on the topic"The enrichment of teacher knowledge and efficiency in teaching animated by resource person Mrs.Kala mohan.

A seminar on the, “3 levels of mind” multiple intelligence, dealing with stress and class room management strategies’ was held by Most Rev. Dr.A.A.S. Durairaj Bishop of Khandwa Diocese.

Three day seminar conducted for teachers by Dr.Vijay Robert from 1 million talents: on the pattern of teaching and class management and he introduce the idea of seven habits ,the law of consistency, discipline and personal development.

 

Student Enrichment Programme

To ensure that our students are equipped to face any challenge our school has taken different initiative. Traffic awareness programme was conducted and inspired the students to follow the rule and serve the country. Students visited deaf and dump schools. It was heart touching and eye opening experience.

Study Tour: - By providing a conducive encouraging environment and to expand learning experience a excursion to Delhi was organized by the school . Students travelled along with the teachers and visited the historical places like Amritsar Golden Temple, Jalianwala Bagh ,Wagha Border, Qutab Minar and Taj Mahal.

Supportive Parenting

The school has conducted seminar for parents to convince the parents for the importance of the role of the parents in the field of education animated by Mrs.Kala Mohan. More than 2500 parents were present.

Academic Achievements

The scholastic performance of an institution is the benchmark used for gauging its excellence in academics. We take pride to announce that during the academic session 2018-19 students appeared in class X board exams of which Sanjana Prakash Patil scored 92.6 % and Vanshika Piyush Shah scored 92% and Clas XII Pooja Rajendra Patil scored 82.4 % in science stream ,Atharv Ketan Tare scored 85.2% in Mathematics stream , Neha Mohan Dalal scored 85.4% in commerce stream .

Encouraging the Sports Culture

What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals. Perceiving this thought in our minds,We celebrated the national sports day. Ourstudents also participated in state level and national level competitions in floor ball , basket ball, throw ball, carom and chess .

Competitive Exams

To assist and prepare students to excel in today’s competitive world. Our students were given the opportunity to participate in Indian talent Olympiad and Race to space.

Celebrations

Celebrations are the most beautiful moments of a school .Our school cabinet members were officially swornin in a very impressive investiture ceremony on 7th july 2019.The school cabinet was lead by our Head Boy Sandeep Pawar and Head Girl Shruti Thakurdwarkar . Rev.Fr.Mathew K,J. the manager handed over the flags to leaders, After the oath taking each house participated in March past and cultural programme.

The school celebrated Independence day with hoisting of the national flag by Rev.Fr. Sebastian Kaiaparambil which was followed by Band Display and variety of entertainment programmmes were performed by students.

Manager Rev.Fr.Mathew K.J. felicitated all the teachers on teachers day . The students entertained the teachers with varieties of programmes .

The 150th Anniversary of Gandhi Jayanti was observerd on 2nd October 2019.On this occasion a drawing competition was conducted in which many students participated.

Madhya Pradeh foundation day was observed on November 1st 2019.

Children’s day was celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm. Students performed cultural programmes. Teachers took keen interest in organizing different games for the students. An inter-house basket ball competition was organized at the school premises.
On 3rd December the school celebrated it’s patron’s Day. Students conducted various programmes on the day and wished each other.

Fit India Movemment was celebrated in the school. Activities like yoga, free hand exercise, Martial arts,Games,painting on fit mind,fit body and fit environment ,organized to build healthy body and mind.

Co-curricular Activities:-

To promote the competitive spirit and to bring out the talent of the students, they are encouraged to participate in various co-curricular activities like drawing and painting, Essay writing, singing, recitation, dance ,fancy dress, spell bee, debate, Rangoli, craft, rakhi and model making competitions. The exuberant participation in co-curricular activities groomed every facet of the student’s personality.

CBSE Inspection

On 27th June 2019,CBSE inspection was carried out by Sr.Lucy Sebastian of Holy Trinity School Dewas. she had verified all the documents and observed all the classes. She inspected the teaching methodologies and also the skills and the levels of students. She took around the lab, library , Sports room and other facilities required for a CBSE school.

Infrastructure and facilities

The smart class provides great support through audio visual approach in addition to the normal chalk and talk method. This year we have incorporated 5 more Digital visual rooms for demonstration of the smart classes .At present the school has 15 Digital class rooms . School Management Software (SMS system) introduced in the school to facilitate better communication with the parents of our students. The other facilities include, installation of CCTV camera, roadside compound wall and water cooler.

Future plan

Our future plan on priority basis include separate Kindergarten building and a conference Hall which is in the process of completion.

Conclusion:-

I summarize In the words of APJ Abdul Kalam “Learning gives creativity, creativity leads to thinking, thinking provides knowledge and knowledge makes you great.”

I would like to call your attention to the theme of this 13th annual day taking cue from the saint Francis Xavier “No one can ever excel in great things who do not first excel in small things.”

In the voyage of the discovery of wisdom with excellence in the field of education ,our endeavour of keeping the values-Love,Peace,truth,Non-violence and right conduct alive in our thought word and action continues and we present to You “Udaan” –fly high with Values. You will witness our students participating in the Extravaganza that is about to unfold in front of you.

Before concluding this report. I bow my head in reverence to the Almighty God for the blessings He has showered upon our institution. I thank most Rev. Sebastian Durairaj Bishop of Khandwa Diocese ,l for his presence , continuous support and encouragement. I wish to express my sincere gratitude to our Manager Rev. Fr. Mathew K.J. who has always been very co-operative and supportive. May I take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to the teaching staff, supporting staff, parents and all our well wishers for their sincere and dedicated service.

Let me conclude this report with the promise of wisdom with Excellence, with the hope of new beginning. May God Almighty bless us all .
